This morning we welcomed to assembly two of our amazing parent volunteers Mrs Calvert and Mrs Fetches who are part of the wonderful team behind our second-hand uniform shop.
Every penny raised by the shop goes directly to four charities shared equally. These are Dandelion Time and the Children’s Respite Trust here in Kent, and Heatherbank School and Shine in Africa. Last year alone the shop raised an incredible £19000 which is an extraordinary achievement made possible by the generosity of our families.
We were also joined in assembly by Dandelion Time. The children heard about the life changing work they do and how the support from our school has helped them reach so many families.
Please continue to support the shop and donate your pre-loved items as we move through the change of uniform. The shop follows a zero-waste policy. Some items are sent to a project in Uganda where they are repaired and repurposed. Some pieces go to a school in Kenya. Other materials are cut into swatches for bunting and creative projects and some become memory bears. Anything that cannot be reused is recycled rather than sent to landfill.

This was our final House Soloists Competition of the Year with Year 5 & 6 soloists competing with an array of performances ranging from piano, to violin, saxophone and voice. Congratulations to Henry J, Mayra, Vincent, Bea, Alexander B and Senan who all performed brilliantly and did their respective houses proud.
