We are excited to share that six of our Year 8 pupils are now published authors. Each year, King’s Canterbury produces Mind’s Eye, a brilliant collection of thought-provoking articles written by prep school pupils across the South East. Only a handful of articles from the many that are submitted by prep schools get chosen.
We would like to thank @thekingsschoolcanterbury for including our pupils’ work in this 10th edition. This magazine features a broad range of articles written by our students, covering topics from dinosaurs and the periodic table to Monopoly strategy and crime:

Speech and Prizegiving Day 2026
What a wonderful time at Saturday’s Speech Day, a time to reflect on a fantastic academic year and recognise the achievements of our Prep prize winners and Year 8 Leavers. We are so proud of all they have accomplished during their time at Holmewood.
A huge thank you to Sophie De Goede, Saracens and Canadian World Player of the Year in 2025, for her inspiring words on resilience, leadership and personal growth.
Congratulations also to our Head Boy, Rafferty, and Head Girl, Megan, who bravely delivered their much-anticipated speeches with confidence to a packed crowd.
