As part of their castle topic, Year 1 loved creating their own clay castle doors with Mr Johnson.ā
ā
They carefully designed and shaped their doors before learning how clay is transformed in the kiln. They also discovered that glazes can change colour when heated, so they had to think carefully about which colours to choose and imagine how they might look after firing. ā

They are looking forward to seeing their finished creations after half term.ā
