Holmewood House prep school in Tunbridge Wells is very much a family school where the positive relationships between the teachers and pupils allows us to get to know and understand the individual needs of each and every child.

Holmewood House is a co-educational, non-selective school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, situated in 30 acres of glorious grounds in Tunbridge Wells.
The wonderful environment and outstanding facilities provide a strong framework upon which the ethos of ‘allowing children to be children can be achieved.

🌳Year 6 are currently in the midst of an unforgettable adventure at Boughton Woods near Kettering.⛺ Since departing on Thursday morning, they’ve thrown themselves into an exciting programme of outdoor challenges and survival skills. Highlights have included shelter building and cooking over open fires after learning all about safe fire-making using matchsticks, thumb sticks, and wrist-sized wood. The group has also taken part in games of Predator following lessons in camouflage and concealment, received first aid training, and even tackled a dramatic DIY SOS scenario where they had to rescue their teachers from a ‘burning plane cockpit’! Spirits are high as they look forward to tonight’s eagerly anticipated Tribal Talent Show. With every activity approached with enthusiasm and energy, we’re expecting a very tired but happy group when they return. #Year6 #PrepSchoolDays #HolmewoodHouseSchool #BushcraftAdventure

It was a pleasure to welcome back three of our esteemed alumni from the Class of 1965 - Chris Hunter, Jonathan Glover, and Philip Addo - as they returned to Holmewood, 60 years after leaving. They spent the morning with our Scholarship Readiness pupils, shared their stories in a Q&A with our Year 8 scholars and school leaders, and reflected on how their prep school days helped shape who they are today. There was real joy in seeing their faces light up as they flipped through old yearbooks and photo archives, reminiscing about adventures on the sports field, friendships formed, and life in the Holmewood grounds. The Swim School holds classes for children of all abilities and is open to Holmewood pupils as well as the wider community and takes places after the Holmewood school day has finished and on a Saturday morning.
Holmewood House School has been running holiday courses since 1998. We aim to offer a wide variety of courses for children aged 5-12 in a secure and relaxed environment.

The chaperone service that Holmewood House offers has meant that our son has been able to access the best of both worlds, a country boarding school during the week where he can enjoy the space and facilities which are very hard to come by in London and then is able to come home every Friday to enjoy a full weekend with family. It is extremely convenient to be able to pick him up & drop off from central London & is workable on top of the other commitments I have! He looks forward to his trips on the train where he gets any unfinished homework done and then is able to relax at home
