Year 6 Town Councillors in Baad Austria deciding whether a ski resort should be built.  The vote went 10 For and 6 Against! Well done to all the participants and to Derek and Joel for justifying the resort and fending off some tricky questions from the residents! Katie Seecharan

 

Year 6 debating whether a ski resort should be built in Baad, Austria.  It will be interesting to see how their vote goes!

The quad fell silent this morning as the school came together for its annual Remembrance Day service.

Led by Mr Morgan-Jones, with heartfelt readings from Mrs O’Sullivan, four Pre-Prep pupils, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, we honoured all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service.

A British Royal Legion wreath was laid beneath the Oak tree, and another at the base of the Oliver Dicketts memorial tree — remembering Oliver (1979–2006), an Old Holmewoodian who gave his life while serving with NATO forces. Forever in our hearts.

We were honoured to welcome Oliver’s parents, Robert and Priscilla, and Alison and Clive Brown, whose son Tom — also an Old Holmewoodian — is currently serving in the Welsh Guards.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
