In English Year 4 have started looking at the book ‘Flotsam’ and we have been exploring the back stories of possible characters by analysing flotsam buried in the sand. Our new topic for Science this term is living things, Year 4 made the most of the sunny weather and explored the different habitats around our school grounds. Year 4 Team
House News 👏
This morning, six brave musicians from Years 7 and 8, performed in front of the school in the first ever House Solo Music Competition. A daunting task but they took it in their stride and represented their houses brilliantly.
A couple of the children were less experienced performers and had been recruited last minute, making their efforts even more impressive!
Our judges, Head Ruth O’Sullivan, Bursar Mr Laker and Head of Music Mrs Carter, will now deliberate and the winner announced in assembly on Monday. In the meantime we look forward to the soloists from Years 5 & 6, and Years 3 & 4 taking to the stage.

Congratulations to our U10s who did brilliantly well at the UKSA U10 tournament at Burgess Hill, coming 4th overall.
The boys played their hearts out and should be very proud of their performance across their 8 matches; winning 4, drawing 2 and losing 2. They were a credit to Holmewood House throughout.

This Easter we are offering many varied and fun-filled courses including new options such as Author for a Week, Baking with Culinera, Lego Robotics and Prototype Modelling.
These run alongside a vast array of creative and active choices ranging from learning to 3D print to forest school to football. Course ages range from 5+ and are run by experienced, enthusiastic staff and assistants who are all suitably qualified and DBS checked.
