Pre-Nursery & Nursery 28.2.25

We’ve gone wild!

Over the half term break, the Nursery transferred into a realm of tropical rainforests and jungle wilderness. Throughout the week the children have participated in a carousel of games and activities on the topic, with “Dear Zoo” being the book of choice. Pre- Nursery crafted paper plate animals using snake, tiger, and zebra print tissue paper. They also worked together to solve safari puzzles and construct enclosures using zoo Duplo. Nursery focused on the 5 senses whilst exploring exotic fruit which included papaya, mango, pineapple, physalis and kiwi. They then put their maths skills to the test by weighing jungle animals, deciding which was the lightest, heaviest, or if they were equal. Through a colour mixing experiment they designed striking safari landscapes. Fist they mixed yellow and red paint together to create the background, before cutting and sticking on animal silhouettes.

World Book Day

We’re really excited as one of our favourite events of the year is fast approaching. World Book Day will be held on Thursday 6th March with an aim to encourage all children to develop their love of literature through books and nursery rhymes. Stories feed children’s imagination, and spark joy for curious young minds. As part of the celebrations, we welcome children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and to join in with story sacks, buddy reading, and a “Tiger who came to tea” party. Please do not worry if your child does not attend on a Thursday, as we will be providing activities throughout the week for all to enjoy.
