Art – Butterflies

Inspired by Eric Carle’s brilliant children’s picture book, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, the Year 4 children have been creating their own butterflies. Firstly, they experimented making arbitrary marks and washes with acrylic inks on paper, then they either tore or cut them before sticking in place to create their own unique butterfly; stunning art and a very messy studio! Tom Johnson / Keith Siddle

Teeth

In Science this week, the children have started their new topic on Teeth and Digestion.  They have been exploring the teeth in their mouth and replicating them in a clay model.  They can identify the different types of teeth and have learnt about the jobs they do. Year 4 Team

Tudor Houses

This week in History, we have learnt about the design of a Tudor house and how they were built using wood with wattle and daub, with this producing huge interest when they heard they used dung!  The children made their own Tudor Houses in groups, which now look fantastic in the classrooms. Year 3 & 4 Assembly

There was plenty to celebrate in our Year 3 and 4 assembly today.  Starting with lots of star and smiley faces badges being awarded for some fantastic house point totals.  This was followed by a presentation of pen licences to some Year 4s and a few subject commendations for great work in Maths, Forest School and French.  A great way to start a sunny Friday!
