A Huge Achievement – Eddie and Xander Become Certified PADI Open Water Divers

We are delighted to share that both Eddie and Xander recently passed their PADI Open Water Diver certifications—a remarkable accomplishment, especially at their age. The course demands over 20 hours of online study and exams, followed by rigorous pool-based practical assessments. The final stage involves six open water dives in the ocean, including training in diver rescue and first aid. The boys were fortunate to complete their ocean dives in the Maldives last week, where they safely reached depths of 18 metres and achieved sound passes. It was an especially proud moment for their father, a former Royal Navy Frogman, who had the privilege of diving alongside them. This impressive achievement reflects not only their bravery and determination but also the confidence and ‘can-do’ attitude fostered at Holmewood—qualities that enabled them to succeed in a challenge many adults do not undertake.
