Year 6 Trip to Neasden Mandir

All of Year 6 enjoyed an amazing trip to the Bps Shri Swaminarayan Manir in Neasden, to further support their studies of Hinduism in TPR this term. We were given a lovely warm welcome by our friends at the Mandir and saw the beautiful Arti ceremony in the Mandir. There was plenty of time to sketch the carvings – do have a look at Mr Johnson’s amazing sketch book and there was time to reflect and discover that sense of awe and wonder. The calm peaceful surroundings were greatly appreciated by the pupils. They visited the  Exhibition “Understanding Hinduism,” saw a DVD about how this magnificent temple came about and then had a question and answer session with one of the lovely guides at the Mandir. It was a very special day and one I am sure the pupils will long remember. My grateful thanks go to Mr. Meier, Mrs Bass-Gualbert and Mr Johnson for accompanying me on this trip. The pupils were congratulated on their behaviour and level of interest in what they were looking at, by both members of the public and staff at the Mandir, which is always so lovely to hear. Mr Morgan-Jones
