Year 8 7.2.25

Generation2Generation

It was wonderful to be able to welcome Noreen Plen and Susanna Kester from generation2generation, to share their powerful, moving and thought-provoking family stories. It was also super to be able to welcome back to this Parish, Mr Paul Tweedle and his son, Benedict, to complete the panel of distinguished guests speaking.  We also welcomed pupils from Cumnor House Prep School and Skippers Hill Prep School and some senior students from Walthamstow Hall, City of London Freemen’s School and Lingfield College,  who joined Year 8 Holmewood House pupils in the Jubilee Theatre to hear the presentations, which contained such powerful messages about the plight of refugees today, together with on going problems in sadly warn torn parts of the globe.

You could hear a pin drop throughout, with children hanging on every word and I am sure it will be an afternoon that the children will long remember, with time to reflect upon what they heard and discuss with family.

A very big thank you to our four magnificent speakers – the loud applause at the end showed how well it was received. Mr P Morgan-Jones
