🎞️ One Day Film School 🎬
As part of their leavers` programme, our Year 8 pupils spent the day immersed in the world of filmmaking. In the morning, they learned the essentials: Film History, Fight Choreography, Screenwriting, Camera and Editing.
Then it was time for the 10 Shot Challenge where pupils worked in small teams to create silent (with music) films of up to 2 minutes based on a classic narrative.
Each film premiered at the end of the day and competed for three "Oscars".
And the winners were:
Best Motion Picture: " The Broken Love"
Best Performance: Harriet, "Blood Behind the Mask"
Best Technical Achievement: Our Last Breath"
The winning film is now eligible for the 10 Shot Film Awards, a national celebration of filmmaking excellence across 125+ leading UK schools, judged by a panel led by Robin Kinsey, Vice President Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios EMEA & UK - Marvel, Lucasfilm & 20th Century Studios.
To view the winning film see our link in bio (One Day Film School Winner).
Well done to all the pupils involved!

👏 We have had an amazing year for Maths Challenges where all pupils in Years 3 to 8 have taken part in various competitions.👏
Earlier in the term Daniel (Y8) and Divit (Y7) got through to the Kangaroo round of the Intermediate Maths Challenge - designed for pupils in Year 11 and below. They achieved a Gold and Bronze award respectively, which is a phenomenal achievement.
More children than ever got through to the Kangaroo round of the Junior Maths Challenge - designed for pupils in Year 8 and below. In Y8, Daniel gained a Silver and Freddie a Gold and best in school. In Y7, Jason gained a Bronze and Divit a Bronze with best in Year. Ethan in Y6 and Leo in Y5 did amazingly well to both gain Silver awards!
Well done and we look forward to many future Maths achievements for all the children.

Entrepreneurial Day with The Apprentice's Kathryn Burn
Our Year 8 pupils had an inspiring day with @kathrynlouiseburn, finalist from The Apprentice 2022.
First of all she spoke of her journey from education through to working, then to being on The Apprentice and setting up her own business. She offered her advice to the children who may be thinking of following a similar pathway.
Following on from this, they were set a challenge, to come up with a brand-new tech innovation that could make everyday life better. Working in teams, they developed creative ideas, crafted brand identities, designed logos, and produced short commercials to bring their concepts to life.
They then presented their pitches to Kathryn, who put their ideas to the test with some sharp business questions.
Huge thanks to Kathryn for giving our pupils a real taste of entrepreneurship and a sneak peek into the high-stakes world of The Apprentice.
