Trip to Down House
On Friday, Year 6 travelled to Down House, home of Charles Darwin, to tie in with their work on Natural Selection. They learned all about Darwin’s life and work, had a tour of the house and gardens and were able to participate in a Natural Selection workshop. The workshop was all about the famous Galapagos Finches and how they became so well suited to their different habitats. The day concluded with a visit to the greenhouse to see some of the different carnivorous plants and hear about the development of his various collections and experiments
The pupils were great, showcasing their amazing knowledge of Charles Darwin and listening enthusiastically to their guides. Dave Bennett
