Year 3 have been exploring mirrors and reflection in Science this week. We wrote coded messages using mirror writing, found reflective surfaces in the classroom, completed mazes using a mirror and looked at what happens when we use several mirrors together. Rachael Cowell
🏅 Netball Highlights ⭐
Netball has wrapped up for the term as we look ahead to football, and what a great season it’s been. Lots of great fixtures, plenty of progress and lots to build on for next year.
Highlights from this week include:
U11Bs enjoyed a tournament at St Michael`s Prep School, winning four games and drawing one to top their group. They then went on to win their semi final before narrowly losing the final 2–4, finishing as runners up overall. A fantastic effort. Their coach said "across the matches, there was clear improvement, particularly in running forward to receive the ball and passing accurately and precisely to each other. Their positive attitude and consistent effort were evident in every match. Great job girls!"
U10As had a fantastic afternoon at the Wally Hall Tournament, finishing with a close 3–2 win against the hosts. Some brilliant defending and lovely team play throughout, plus lots of accurate, long range shots scored from the shooters.
U9As took part in their annual tournament at Sevenoaks School, facing Granville School, Alleyn`s School, Solefield School, St Michael’s and Kent College Pembury. It was a fun, busy afternoon and a really valuable first tournament experience for the girls.
A really positive way to finish the season. Well done to everyone involved!

Huge congratulations to our U10 and U13 gymnasts who competed at Haberdashers` Boys` School in the ISGA Championships. Head Coaches Charlie and Millie were incredibly proud of all the gymnasts who competed and represented the school so brilliantly.
A special shout-out to Millie B, who achieved an outstanding 9.7 out of 10 on vault, earning the highest vault score - an incredible achievement!
Although our U13 JUST missed out on a top-six placing, they came an amazing 7th out of 18 in a very tough category. The U10s also narrowly missed out on a place for their group sequence, but the progress and determination showed by the girls was fantastic to see.
The coaches shared the following message:
"What an incredible competition our gymnasts had. We have seen an unbelievable increase in U10 scores since our last competition in November, and we can`t wait to compete again with them. Well done to all our gymnasts! We are so proud of your hard work, commitment, and team spirit. Thank you also to our parents for your continued support."

Year 1 concluded their topic on Space with a fun, immersive day. From making constellations to launching rockets on the North Lawn (thanks, Mr Bennett!), they were introduced to some core aspects of STEM. It is great to have abstract physics like gravity, action-reaction forces and engineering design for impact brought to life, helping the children to understand some very difficult concepts. They also took a virtual trip to space and the International Space Station using VAR headsets! And all the while looking the part in their home made space themed hats!
