🐇 First Steps to School 🦉
The transition to Reception is a big milestone - for both children and parents. Whether your child is moving up from Nursery or starting school for the very first time, this new chapter can bring a mix of excitement, curiosity, and a few nerves.
To support you through this journey, Laura Readman (Head of Pre-Prep) and Sheilagh Schweitzer (Head of Early Years) will be sharing expert insights and practical strategies to help your child begin school feeling happy, secure, and ready to learn.
The event is open to all parents (not just those joining or moving up at Holmewood) and will begin with a chat over coffee, and finish with an optional tour of our Reception facilities including Forest School, swimming pool, Sports Hall and beautiful South Lawn.
Book your place now (link in bio - First Steps to School) or for further information, please contact admissions@holmewoodhouse.co.uk.

Just before half term, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic hedgehog-themed assembly, led by two pupils, Zara and Sofia, which inspired a creative competition to design their own hedgehog highway.
This week, we were delighted to welcome Judy from Folly Wildlife Rescue, a local charity who support the care and rehabilitation of British wildlife. She delivered an incredibly informative assembly to Years 5 and 6 about how they care for the animals we see (or perhaps don`t see!) day to day. They also kindly helped judge the hedgehog highway competition and said they found it very difficult to choose a winner!
Congratulations to Rosie and Lottie, who were runners-up, and to William, whose fantastic design was chosen as the overall winner. His design will now be brought to life and installed around the school site to help support local wildlife.
Thank you to Judy from @folly_wildlife_rescue for her time, and we look forward to continuing to support Folly and the wonderful work they do.
