Year 2 27.9.24

Science

As a class we conducted an investigation to discover which ball would bounce the highest when dropped from a height of 1m. We thought carefully about how we would make it a fair test by only changing the ball we used each time. Once we had dropped each ball 3 times we found out that the foam ball had bounced the highest. We used our understanding of forces and materials to think about what happened. Catherine Thorley

European Day of Modern Foreign Languages Day

To celebrate EDoMFL in year 2 we used atlas’ and IPads to locate and name different countries of Europe and identify what different languages were spoken. Rose Lee

Art

This week in art we have learnt about the sculptor Michelle Reader and how she makes unique sculptures using household waste and found objects.  There were particularly impressed with her postman which was made from over 800 pieces of junk mail.  The children then went on to create their own recycled monsters. Rose Lee

Forest School

This week in Forest school the children were treated to a campfire with scrumptious marshmallows – smiling faces all around! Rose Lee
