The Summer term re-commences at Holmewood House on Tuesday 26th April. We are very excited to be able to welcome back our pupils and new joiners for the start of this wonderful term, with all the learning, fun and excitement it will bring!
We are delighted to welcome two pupils from China, who are joining us for a two-week immersion programme.
During their time here, they will have the opportunity to explore British culture, practise their English in real‑world situations and build new friendships. They are staying in our newly refurbished boarding house and will experience everything a British boarding prep school education has to offer, along with some fantastic trips.
By the end of their stay, we hope the boys will have strengthened their English, grown in independence and gained a clearer understanding of what it means to learn and live in the UK. Welcome to the UK, Welcome to Holmewood!

National Storytelling Week - a celebration of the power of sharing stories
It was great to welcome best selling children`s author, Tom Palmer, to Holmewood to help us celebrate National Storytelling Week and the National Year of Reading. The author of over 60 children`s books, Tom has been described by Booktrust as "a true reading hero" and "responsible for motivating many thousands of young people to get into books.”
Y5-8 enjoyed a talk where they heard about Tom`s motivation to become a writer, how he overcame his fears of writing and the fun aspects of researching his books such as camping in a football stadium and taking a voyage on a ship to the arctic.
Tom kept his audience captivated at breaktime by being our mystery reader in the Story Cafe. He then spoke to the children about his journey from reluctant reader to best selling author, and some of the children were lucky enough to receive a signed copy of one of his books.
