Tree Planting

House Tree planting As part of our celebrations, to mark the 75th birthday of the school, each House has planted a House tree in their own designated part of the school grounds.

The Year 8’s have helped to plant the tree, by putting compost around the roots, holding the tree straight and then placing further soil around the tree and then trampling the soil in, to help the tree to grow. We noticed many budding tree planters of the future amongst the Year 8 pupils.  A plaque will be placed by each tree later in the year, to mark this special occasion.

Trees were planted in traditional House order, from oldest House to newest House – Oak, Cedar, Beech, Cob, Yew and Ash. These will add even more beauty to our already stunning school grounds.

When we can, we would love to extend a warm welcome back to any Alumni, who would like to view the new addition to the school grounds and I am sure you will be thrilled to see your new House tree flourishing.
