Tinkercad is a free online 3D design  and modelling tool that is used in many UK schools including Holmewood House. It is Kid-safe certified and ad-free. BAKING WITH ZUZI

A fun, hands-on baking course creating sweet and savoury treats and bakes.
Every day children will create 2 different recipes from scratch, which they can bring home to share with the rest of the family.
Participants need to wear clothes they can get messy in, or an apron, and should bring a named, lidded container each day to bring their tasty bakes home in.
(Note: This course is suitable for vegetarians but not for children with any other dietary restrictions or food allergies).
Zuzi is an experienced primary school teacher and cake maker, who has been teaching children, both mainstream and SEN (and adults!) for over 25 years. She owns a cake making business in Tonbridge and also runs cake decorating, baking and crafting classes and parties.

BALL SKILLS

This gets the children involved in a wide range of sports and activities from dodgeball to rounders, tag rugby to basketball and everything in-between! The sessions may give the children a chance to try a sport or activity that they might not have considered before and develop the fundamental skills of throwing, catching, running and jumping.

CHEERLEADING

The cheerleading course will be a fun, energetic introduction to the four elements of the sport – stunts, jumps, motions and tumbling. Participants will practice a range of different skills and will work towards combining them in a routine with pom poms (optional) and upbeat music. Suitable for all abilities, boys and girl’s welcome. Led by Lauren from Trinity Dance.

CLIMBING

Climbing is an all-round sport which uses every muscle in the body and many parts of the brain! Our qualified instructor, Mr Lee, uses the climbing wall to teach children great hand, feet and eye coordination. When children can set their own goals and then continually keep pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to achieve them, it creates great self-esteem. The height can be a limiting factor for some children, but working together, building trust and confidence step by step, will help overcome fears. The children must have their legs covered for climbing so tracksuit trousers are best due to the harness worn. Trainers are also required.

CRAFT CLUB

This is a great course for younger children who want to develop their creative talents.  Many resources will be used to produce a wonderful array of craft.

It is a skill and will take time to master; but improvement will be seen over this course and the children will gain a real sense of achievement as their skill levels and hence their scores improve. Rifles used fire .22 live rounds and the range is indoors so this is not a weather-dependent activity. This course involves both theory as well as practical.

SUGARCRAFT

Our new Sugarcraft courses are with Zuzi, who started this Easter.
