Our Year 1 classrooms were full of energy this morning as children and parents worked together to build castles out of junk materials. There were arrow-slit windows, working drawbridges, and some brilliant battlements.
It was great way for the children to develop their fine motor skills and construction knowledge, while also revisiting everything they’ve learned about castles so far this term. A great follow-up to the Hever Castle trip. A big thank you to everyone who joined us!

Performing Arts Winners! 👏
We are delighted to announce that we have won the Performing Arts category in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025!
Mr B, Mrs Carter and Mr Parker proudly accepted the award at the ceremony in London last night.
The judges said that Holmewood House “stood out in an extremely strong field, by placing the Performing Arts at the heart of its educational experience, with deep engagement by its pupils, while also being restless in seeking new ways to support children’s creative interests.”
Well done to them, and all our fabulous peri and LAMDA teachers across the Pre-Prep and Prep! Bring on our 80th Anniversary Celebration Concert on Thursday evening!
