This week, Year 2 have been busy wearing two very important hats – bakers and designers! 👩🍳
As part of our topic, we travelled back in time to learn about life during the war. We discovered that families were given ration books, which meant they could only buy small amounts of certain foods. To understand what this was like, we challenged ourselves to bake wartime carrot biscuits using limited ingredients just as families would have done many years ago!
But we didn’t stop there… We became creative designers too! The children invented their own biscuit brands, complete with catchy names, exciting slogans and eye-catching packaging to attract customers. They carefully thought about colours, pictures and persuasive words to make their products stand out on the shelf.
A wonderful week full of creativity, history and delicious learning! 🍪✨
