Year 1

The Year 1’s are working on addition and subtraction within 20 in Maths and have been finding all the possible number bonds to 20 using 10 frames and counters.  They are learning to be systematic in their approach and to look for patterns within the numbers.
A highlight this week was when we got thinking about how astronauts eat in space.  We had a real think about how food gets to space, why it is packaged in a certain way and how it might taste.  The children got to taste a range of freeze dried space food items, including apples, strawberries and ice-cream.

1CH enjoyed looking for signs of spring in Forest School and making clay creations to attach to some of the trees in the Forest School area. It was very muddy and the children enjoyed getting their hands in.
