Owl Babies 🦉
Our bunnies have enjoyed exploring the story “Owl Babies” this week, taking part in activities that encouraged creativity, curiosity and lots of hands‑on fun. They made their own rice cake owls in cookery, using banana slices for eyes, chunks of apple for feathers and a little triangle of cheese for the beak. At the craft table, the little ones loved sponging paint, adding fluffy cotton wool and carefully gluing on eyes, beaks and feet to bring their owls to life. We also wrapped up warm for a winter walk, listening out for birds, spotting nests in the trees and noticing all the little signs of the season around us. Next week, we are looking forward to starting our new story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, joining in with the story sack and repetitive phrases, creating big bear paintings with bold strokes and exploring a sensory bear hunt trail with grass, mud and water.
We apologise in advance if your child comes home a little messy, we hope you will enjoy knowing it is all part of the adventure we are sharing together as they explore, discover and grow. Please rest assured we will pop aprons on for painting, wet weathers for muddy puddle jumping, and give them a gentle face wipe after lunch!
This term we are supporting the children with their early independence, things like having a go at putting on their own coats, helping tidy up, using simple language to share their needs, and joining in with small group activities. These little steps really help build their confidence and sense of “I can do it”. We so look forward to celebrating their individual milestones with them.
Miss Ringer, Miss Oliver and I hope you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.
Warm regards
The Pre-Nursery Team
