During 5 sessions this month, William competed in the Beacon Swimming Club’s Club Championships. He had lots of fun, achieved several PBs and won a number of ribbons and medals, including Silver in the 100m Backstroke and Bronze in the 200m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley. What a great achievement, congratulations William!
Last Saturday, Isla C and Ellie W completed their second junior triathlon at Hever Castle. Both girls were first out of the water in the swim with Isla going on to gain 2nd place female in her age category! Well done girls!
Ellie’s brother Charlie (year 7) also took part in the Hever Triathlon in the 11-12 year old age group. Despite the cold lake temperature, he came out in the first group of swimmers and went on to put in a strong performance on both the bike and in the run. Well done Charlie! What an amazing effort!
Alana in Year 5 has been selected for the English Schools Alpine Squad 2025 / 26! The selection process was based on outstanding performance in the recent English Dry Slope Qualifiers. The English Schools’ Ski Association (ESSKIA) said ‘competition was extremely tough as these races and athletes competing included the fastest dry-slope racers in the UK (regardless of age)’. This is an incredible achievement – well done Alana!
World Mental Health Day
As part of World Mental Health Day, we embraced the idea of ‘Tea and Talk’. Mrs O’Sullivan hosted a tea party in her office with over 100 children coming to sip tea, eat cake and share some fine conversations. There was even an impromptu dance party! There was also other get together events before school, during break and after school to make sure everyone had that chance to chat and talk with someone they trust.

We were thrilled to welcome so many families to our recent Open Morning — especially those exploring Nursery and Pre-Prep!
We were delighted by the wonderful turnout and the excitement around our Early Years provision. With our Nursery open 46 weeks a year, Holmewood offers families greater flexibility and an extraordinary place for children to begin their learning journey.
Huge thanks to our parent volunteers and Year 8 guides for leading tours, and to Ruth O’Sullivan, Nell Bond, and Laura Readman for their inspiring talks.
Visitors also enjoyed music from our Year 3s, Choristers Choir, and talented instrumentalists.
Special mention to our Year 8 speakers, who shared how Holmewood has prepared them for their futures at Tonbridge School and Brighton College.
