In this week’s assembly, Year 5 discovered how democracy works — with a delicious twist! Pupils learned about the importance of having a voice and making fair decisions, then put their knowledge into practice by voting on the age-old question:
What is the best flavour of Haribo?
After lively debate, votes were cast, counted, and Tangfastics was crowned a worthy winner! Danny Parker
Mrs Bennett’s class explored the fascinating world of Roman Numerals. To put their learning into practice, pupils took part in an engaging “marketplace” activity. Acting as buyers and sellers, they exchanged goods and calculated amounts using Roman Numerals, applying their knowledge in a fun, hands-on way.

On Saturday 13th June, 2-6pm our whole school community will celebrate Holmewood`s 80th Anniversary at a 1940`s themed Garden Party on the North Lawn.
There will be 1940s vintage vehicles, a live swing band and `lindy hop` dancers, our staff/parent/Alumni cricket match, afternoon tea, Pimm’s and lemonade, games and activities for children. For those who want to get into the swing of things, 1940`s costume is encouraged!
Current and former families and staff are invited to enjoy a fun afternoon together in celebration of this important milestone in the school’s history. Please visit the Old Holmewoodian website to register and purchase tickets (link in bio).

The Friends of Holmewood Quiz Night was a fantastic success on Friday evening.
Teams went head-to-head through music, sport, famous duos and entertainment rounds, plus some more eclectic questions such as guess the Holmewood House staff from their baby pics. It was suitably challenging, silly and fun!
A huge thank you to @friendsofholmewood for organising such a brilliant event, and to Mr Davies who smashed his role as quiz master!
