Year 8 6.6.25

Year 8 – Leavers’ Programme

Our Year 8 pupils (non-CE) have enjoyed a busy and enriching week as part of their Leavers’ Programme.

They began the week in the Art Room, where they spent the day crafting stunning mosaic tiles and montaged artworks on cradled wood panels.

On Tuesday, the group ventured to London for a fascinating visit to the Natural History Museum. From towering dinosaur skeletons to glittering gemstones, the day was filled with awe-inspiring exhibits and interactive learning.

Wednesday saw the pupils working with Mr Bennett on a science-based project. The morning was full of hands-on experiments and problem-solving, offering an engaging opportunity to apply scientific thinking in a fun and challenging way.

On Thursday, the group headed to Pre-Prep, where they spent the day helping with the younger children. From listening to reading, supporting with phonics and maths, to getting involved in art activities, they showed great patience and kindness.

The week ended on a high with a double excursion on Friday. First, a visit to Bateman’s, the home of Rudyard Kipling, where they explored the beautiful house and gardens. Then, on to the historic Bodiam Castle for a final adventure steeped in history and storytelling.

It’s been a fantastic week and next week all the Year 8s will be together on their full Year 8 programme.
