Girls’ Sport

Well, it has been an extremely busy half term with beautiful weather until this last Wednesday of the half term. Unfortunately, most of the girls’ matches were cancelled on Wednesday because of the bad weather, and although we were hopeful, it just wasn’t to be for most teams, although the U10 girls managed to play their match

The U10B team travelled to Eastbourne to face St Andrew’s, hopeful that the weather would be kinder on the coast. Unfortunately, the rain followed us but play continued undeterred on the Summerdown astro.

Batting first, the team showed great spirit and energy. Matilda stood out with an impressive over, hitting three boundaries (4s), while Tamzin made a statement by scoring the team’s first 6, her powerful performance earned her the Batter of the Match award.

In the field, the girls demonstrated noticeable improvement, especially in their bowling. Flo H delivered a strong performance, taking a key wicket and being named Bowler of the Match for her efforts.

The match concluded in a well-fought draw, reflecting the balanced efforts from both teams and the continued development of our players. KB

On Thursday the year 3 + 4 girls had a fun afternoon of cricket and it is great to see the progress the girls have made in such a short space of time. Unfortunately, we didn’t quite finish the tournament and so have just one match to play for a final result which we will play on our return after half term. Well done to all of the girls!
