What a privilege and pleasure it was to speak to, Old Holmewoodian, John Hensher, on the telephone on Friday evening. John must be one of our oldest living Holmewoodians. He told me that he is 87 and was at Holmewood House between 1947 and 1951. He was in Cedar House, before moving on to Bedford school. He has very fond memories of his time here, when it was a school of just 50 boys, all of whom were boarders. He could remember the name of his dormitory – still the same today and many names of staff, with which I am familiar.
