Book Look and Pyjama Day

Thank you to all our visitors who came in for 3N’s Book Look and lunch on Tuesday. The children loved showing you all their work and looking after you in the dining hall.

Well done to all of Year 3 for achieving 1,000 house points! Their celebration was a ‘sleepover’ in the theatre with a movie, popcorn and hot chocolate. Well done to you all for all your hard work. The Year 3 team

A colourful week in the Art Department!⁠

Our pupils have been exploring an exciting mix of materials and techniques across the year groups:⁠
⁠
🔴Year 3 have been glazing their abstract terracotta stationery holders, adding a second layer of colour before they head into the kiln.⁠
🟣 Year 4 have begun sculpting their own Terracotta Army figures after learning about the Qin Dynasty.⁠
🟠Year 5 have transferred their chosen botanical illustrations onto gessoed wooden panels and started painting with vibrant acrylic inks.⁠
🔵Year 6 are building sculptural maquettes, experimenting with scale and perspective using terracotta clay, wooden bases and architectural figures.⁠
🟡Year 8 have created striking automatic paintings on circular wooden panels using acrylic pouring techniques.⁠

On Saturday 13th June, 2-6pm our whole school community will celebrate Holmewood`s 80th Anniversary at a 1940`s themed Garden Party on the North Lawn.⁠
⁠
There will be 1940s vintage vehicles, a live swing band and `lindy hop` dancers, our staff/parent/Alumni cricket match, afternoon tea, Pimm’s and lemonade, games and activities for children. For those who want to get into the swing of things, 1940`s costume is encouraged!⁠
⁠
Current and former families and staff are invited to enjoy a fun afternoon together in celebration of this important milestone in the school’s history. Please visit the Old Holmewoodian website to register and purchase tickets (link in bio).⁠
