This week, Year 3 welcomed Charlie’s mum who gave a presentation all about Chinese New Year. The children learnt about why the festival is celebrated, what celebrations look like around the world and traditions associated with the annual festival. The children were lucky enough to receive red envelopes called hóngbāo and sampled some delicious snacks. Year 3 Team
This week we have started our new topic in Science, Teeth. We have been looking at different types of teeth and their shapes and different functions. We then made our own teeth out of clay, ensuring we included our incisors, canines, pre-molars and molars. Teeth are amazing! Year 4 Team

Year 8 Charlotte has been fundraising for this incredible charity over the last year after a family member was diagnosed. She ran a very successful stall at the Christmas Fair and raised £526 with her stationery stall last term. In the pipeline, are plans for a sponsored 8 hour non-stop dance`athon with her friends.
This weekend, Charlotte is taking part in the Walk of Light in London, joining thousands across the country to raise money for vital blood cancer research. The Holmewood community is incredibly proud of her compassion, creativity and dedication, and we hold all those affected by this disease firmly in our thoughts.
