The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛🦋
This week in Pre‑Nursery we have been enjoying lots of learning inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children have loved exploring growth and change as they created beautiful symmetrical butterflies using folded paint, and they showed wonderful fine‑motor skills while making their own colourful paper plate caterpillars. With spring on the way, we have also been busy preparing our herb garden, digging, planting, and discovering the lovely scents of mint and rosemary as part of our early gardening experiences. The sunshine has given us plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors, where the children have been running, climbing, and discovering signs of spring. They also enjoyed collecting natural treasures to create magical nature wands, sparking lots of imaginative play.
Next week, we will continue our learning by exploring the life cycle of a frog through the playful book Oi Frog. We will be off on an adventure to visit our Holmewood pond to see if we can spot any frogspawn or tadpoles in their natural habitat, giving the children a real‑world connection to the changes they will be learning about.
