Children’s Mental Health Week

A big thank you to Mr Johnson who read to pupils during Relax and Read on Wednesday, as part of Children’s Mental Health week, Mr Porter had chosen the extract from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where Charlie shares his discovery of his golden ticket with his family, to illustrate the value of family and community.

Pupil Librarians

Many of the librarians were busy writing book reviews this week both for the Librarian Recommendation Reading Tree and also for Book of the Week. Their selections were very varied and included books by Anthony Horowitz, Manga, Jeff Kinney and Tom Palmer.

Book Binding Club

Everyone was very excited to see their pages had been trimmed – what was so recently just a few sheets of paper and thread are now beginning to look like real books! This week they used potato printing to create the designs for the end pages. Who would have thought a potato could such an effective medium and striking patterns!
