Year 1 6.2.26

French Day

Year 1 have had a great day celebrating French Day on Wednesday.  They started the morning creating their own pictures in the style of Matisse and then we used craft straws to build Eiffel Towers.  Their challenge was to build a tower that stood up on its’ own requiring great team work skills. They worked so hard on this challenge not only to collaborate together but to try to make the tallest tower that they could. 1BR’s tallest towers measured 1m 60cm!

Year 1 had a wonderful visit from Yumi Yang today and learnt all about the Chinese Zodiac and the animals and their attributes. They then got to do some maths using Chinese numbers and all were awarded with a tangerine and red envelope with some money inside. What a treat! Thank you so much for your generosity and time today Yumi and Nick, we all had a fantastic time!
