Well done to all our brilliant Year 8s for all their hard work at the 7 & 8 Evening last night. They were the stars of the evening, chatting and engaging with parents and proudly sharing their work. Ruth said “the technical language and explanations they were able to use was impressive and the standard of their work was outstanding”.

TEDx
On Thursday, Year 8 had their second training sessions with TEDx Tunbridge wells. This time, they focused on finding and structuring their message: what they want their audience to say, think, do or ask after hearing their talk as well as the importance of a hook and a finale. Pupils should remember this quote from Dr Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” Gaelle Simpson
Year 8 Leadership Meeting
As part of the school’s pioneering ‘Aspirational Leadership’ programme, our Year 8 school and house leaders received their latest expert session on aspects of leadership. Mr Bennett (Head of Year 8) and Miss Price (Head of Year 7) spoke with the pupils about how to be an active listener and what how that can benefit them as leaders as well as those who they may lead in the future. It was lovely to be able to use the Cinema Room in the Boarding House allowing for a relaxed vibe with lots of good conversations being held. Simon Porter
