On Monday evening, sixteen members of our Esports Club took part in a friendly competition against Yateley Manor School in Hampshire, competing in both Rocket League and Minecraft Education. The event gave our players a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate perseverance, agility and collaboration as they faced off against like-minded opponents.
Our Rocket League squads included a Year 6 boys’ and girls’ team, a Year 7 girls’ team, and a Year 8 boys’ and girls’ team, while an additional mixed Year 7 and 8 group took on Minecraft Capture the Flag. With tight time limits, matches moved quickly and every game was fought tooth and nail. We finished on a level playing field, celebrating some well-earned victories and showing great sportsmanship in our defeats.
We would like to thank Yateley Manor for hosting, and we look forward to a potential in-person competition in the not-too-distant future. GG WP — “Good Game, Well Played!” Peter Meier
