👋 Welcoming new friends
The children have now settled back into their routines after the half-term break, and it’s been lovely to see their confidence and enthusiasm shining through. We were delighted to welcome our new friend Taggie to Nursery, and the children have shown such kindness in helping her feel at home—sharing toys, inviting her into games, and making sure she feels part of the group.
🎆 Bonfire Night Fun
We spent time learning about Bonfire Night, discussing why we celebrate it and, most importantly, how to stay safe around fireworks. The children were fascinated by the bright colours and loud sounds associated with fireworks and enjoyed sharing their own experiences. Our creative activity was a big hit—they made colourful rockets using cardboard rolls, glitter glue, tissue paper, and magic stars. There was so much excitement as they zoomed their rockets around the room, imagining them flying high into the night sky!
🏊 Swimming Success
Swimming lessons also began this week, and the children were amazing, like little fish in the water! They practiced blowing bubbles, splashing gently, and joined in with nursery rhymes to help them feel confident and relaxed. It was wonderful to see their smiles and bravery as they tried something new. The swim teachers were very impressed and so were we.
🌺 Looking Ahead
Next week, we will be marking Remembrance Day. The children will join together for a two-minute silence to remember, and we will also be baking some delicious poppy biscuits as part of our activities.
