Year 3 7.11.25

Egyptian Day

Year 3 had an exciting day with the team from ‘Hands on History’. They looked at the time line from the present day back to Ancient Egypt. The children enjoyed their teachers being dressed up in different outfits, got to participate in battles and explored the process of mummification in preparation for the afterlife. Each class then discovered Egyptian gods and the animals they represented and handled artefacts to determine their use. Year 3 Team

Egyptian Canopic Jars

To correspond with the Egyptian theme of their classwork, the Year 3s are creating Canopic jars using terracotta clay, practising techniques for successfully joining and building with clay, using the “pinch-pot” method and adding coils to build height and form. Tom Johnson / Keith Siddle
