Reception

This week ‘The Gingerbread man’ has taken centre stage in RSS . Since starting our topic on Fairy tales, it is wonderful to watch their confidence grow every week  while acting out these well know stories. We put our cuttings skills to the test when we cut out our Gingerbread men and collaged them using different materials. Our button box has kept the children fascinated  while encouraging them to notice how each button is different , either by shape, colour, size, texture, even down to how many sewing holes each one had.  The highlight of the week was making our own Gingerbread men biscuits. The children tasted the ingredients – even the ginger, which was declared ”too spicy”. It was quite a challenge rolling out the dough  but they all persevered well and enjoyed eating them at the end of the day. Another  successful and exciting week of learning through Fairy tales.
