Year 6

Trip to Kew Gardens

Year 6 enjoyed a great day out at Kew Gardens for a cross curricular extravaganza of Geography, Biology and English. Highlights included exploring the tropical Palm and Lily House; a medicinal plant talk by Jane from Kew where pupils had to cure celebrities of their imaginary ailments from plants located in the Rock Garden; climbing the treetop walkway and seeing the park from above the treeline; exploring the Desert Glasshouse and Carbon Garden.  There were numerous Parakeets flying around and even foxes were spotted.
A beautiful place to spend a day.  Pupils are now creating a poster to pull together the curriculum strands – there will be prizes for the best ones!  Happy creating! Katie Seecharan
