Choristers’ Choir

The Choristers’ Choir have been busy rehearsing three songs for a documentary being made about former Holmewood pupils from the 1960s. They recorded pieces that boys in the school choir would have sung at that time, and performed them brilliantly. We are sure the recordings will bring back many happy memories for our alumni when they hear them. Lydia Carter

The quad fell silent this morning as the school came together for its annual Remembrance Day service.

Led by Mr Morgan-Jones, with heartfelt readings from Mrs O’Sullivan, four Pre-Prep pupils, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, we honoured all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service.

A British Royal Legion wreath was laid beneath the Oak tree, and another at the base of the Oliver Dicketts memorial tree — remembering Oliver (1979–2006), an Old Holmewoodian who gave his life while serving with NATO forces. Forever in our hearts.

We were honoured to welcome Oliver’s parents, Robert and Priscilla, and Alison and Clive Brown, whose son Tom — also an Old Holmewoodian — is currently serving in the Welsh Guards.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
