Buddy Time

The Year 3 and Year 8 buddies have had a great start to the term. They’ve really enjoyed getting to know each other and are always excited to meet around school. One of their favourite activities together is reading – a lovely way for the Year 3s to connect with their older buddy, while the Year 8s enjoy supporting and encouraging their younger friends. Year 3 Team

The quad fell silent this morning as the school came together for its annual Remembrance Day service.

Led by Mr Morgan-Jones, with heartfelt readings from Mrs O’Sullivan, four Pre-Prep pupils, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, we honoured all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service.

A British Royal Legion wreath was laid beneath the Oak tree, and another at the base of the Oliver Dicketts memorial tree — remembering Oliver (1979–2006), an Old Holmewoodian who gave his life while serving with NATO forces. Forever in our hearts.

We were honoured to welcome Oliver’s parents, Robert and Priscilla, and Alison and Clive Brown, whose son Tom — also an Old Holmewoodian — is currently serving in the Welsh Guards.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
