Year 1 12.9.25

The children have really enjoyed starting their maths learning this week and having their own workbooks! We have been exploring the concepts practically using resources before recording the answers. Working in pairs and small groups is a great way to develop mathematical understanding and reasoning collaboratively! We have also started our ninja maths which works on developing mental maths skills and this has been a big hit! Emma Bonwick

During the Autumn Term the Year 1 children will be learning about Castles.  We introduced the topic by getting the children to think about what they would like to learn about castles and any questions they wanted answered.  The children wrote their questions and we will endeavour to answer as many of these as we can during the term, being led by the interests of the children.  We spent time looking at books, stories and fairy tales about castles or that featured castles in them.
