Arena Pursuits

The Year 7’s enjoyed a wonderful day out at Arena Pursuits at the start of the week, taking part in a range of activities, where they learnt about effective communication, planning a task, listening to instructions and to each and design. The children enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the blackcurrant fruit farm on the edge of Bewl Water. Thay were a delight to take and I am sure will long remember many of the activities, perhaps especially the raft building!! Thank you to Mis Price, Mr Crombie and Mr Porter for driving a group over and coming back for them. Well done Year 7’s. Mr Morgan-Jones

Curiosity Club

After a year of our brand-new Curiosity Club, pupils had their final session on Tuesday.
These sessions are organised to expand horizons and shared interesting facts in a cross-discipline manner. Content has sparked discussions and learning points around:
  • Game Theory
  • How time works
  • Green Inventions of the Future
  • The Wealth Gap
  • Decoding New Languages
For this final session, we talked about Non-Newtonian Fluids and pupils had a go making their own Oobleck. It was very messy but satisfying to experiment with how a material can go from liquid to solid on impact.

Year 7 Scholars

The Art Scholars have been continuing with their creative endeavours including using an old cello as a canvas, starting the armature for a genie in a vase and making a large octopus out of wire, newspaper, aluminium foil and PVA glue. Tom Johnson / Keith Siddle

WEDNESDAY 25th MARCH 2026 9.00 – 11am FIRST STEPS TO SCHOOL

Our Head of Pre-Prep, Laura Readman, and Head of Early Years, Sheilagh Schweitzer, will be sharing their expert insights and practical strategies to help your child begin school feeling happy, secure, and ready to learn. Optional tour of our Reception facilities including Forest School, swimming pool, Sports Hall and beautiful South Lawn. All parents welcome.
