Trip to The Globe
On Thursday a few of the Year 8 pupils who had finished their exams, went to London watch Romeo and Juliet at The Globe. The show was excellent and a good time was had by all! Bronwen Jervois

With the help of Angus Wright our Operations Manager the pond now has an outside classroom for pupils to enjoy. The log seats are now in place and the outdoor space is truly beautiful. There is a seating area by the dipping platform and a ‘classroom’ to teach from at the far end. This is a wonderful resource for staff to use with their classes. Let’s hope we have some lovely weather in the second half of term to make the most of the space. Katie Seecharan

The quad fell silent this morning as the school came together for its annual Remembrance Day service.
Led by Mr Morgan-Jones, with heartfelt readings from Mrs O’Sullivan, four Pre-Prep pupils, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, we honoured all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service.
A British Royal Legion wreath was laid beneath the Oak tree, and another at the base of the Oliver Dicketts memorial tree — remembering Oliver (1979–2006), an Old Holmewoodian who gave his life while serving with NATO forces. Forever in our hearts.
We were honoured to welcome Oliver’s parents, Robert and Priscilla, and Alison and Clive Brown, whose son Tom — also an Old Holmewoodian — is currently serving in the Welsh Guards.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Our U13 boys and girls travelled to Sevenoaks School this week for a friendly squash match.
Both teams showed great effort and determination against a tough Sevenoaks side. The girls enjoyed their second ever outing and came away with a close 3-2 win. The boys had a mixed set of results, with some tight matches and one strong victory, but in the end Sevenoaks proved too strong.
An enjoyable day of squash with lots to learn from and plenty of positives for everyone. Big thanks to all the parents who came to support.
