Year 5 23.5.25

DT & Engineering

Year 5 are learning to prototype product ideas using single wall corrugated cardboard. The technique is called ‘sketch modelling’ which enables designers to quickly visualise a 3D version of an idea, to see how they could improve it! James Murray

A Maker in the Making

In his spare time at home Monty 5PP built this accurate model of a small landing craft. He spent 3 hours constructing the frame from a K’nex building set. He added each cardboard panel of the boat’s hull with tape. His boat even has its own chain and anchor.  James Murray / Paul Unwin

Art – Wax Resist Insects

Working as a one-off project, the Year 5s are exploring Wax Resist techniques basing on insect patterns by the artist E.A. Seguy. Tom Johnson / Keith Siddle
