Y7 Carnegies Book Group
The Year 7 Carnegies Group have been busy reading the seven nominated illustrated books and writing their mini book reviews. They watched videos to find out about illustrator Wen Hsu Chen’s challenges when using cut paper to create her book ‘The Invisible Story’, and about Yu Rong’s childhood in rural China, the inspiration for her Book ‘Flying High’. Online voting has now opened and they are all eligible to vote for the one book they would like to win the Shadowers’ Choice Medal. They heard all seven illustrators describe how much it would mean to them if they won the award. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 19 June.
