Good Morning Performing

This week’s Good Morning Performing was a real treat with a wide range of instruments from Samuel on trumpet to Vincent on cello with a beautiful original guitar composition by Henry accompanied by Mr Carter and some lovely piano playing from Fiyi and Alexander. Well done to all of you and thank you for entertaining us so brilliantly. Lydia Carter

The quad fell silent this morning as the school came together for its annual Remembrance Day service.

Led by Mr Morgan-Jones, with heartfelt readings from Mrs O’Sullivan, four Pre-Prep pupils, and our Head Boy and Head Girl, we honoured all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service.

A British Royal Legion wreath was laid beneath the Oak tree, and another at the base of the Oliver Dicketts memorial tree — remembering Oliver (1979–2006), an Old Holmewoodian who gave his life while serving with NATO forces. Forever in our hearts.

We were honoured to welcome Oliver’s parents, Robert and Priscilla, and Alison and Clive Brown, whose son Tom — also an Old Holmewoodian — is currently serving in the Welsh Guards.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
