Year 2

2KM Book Look

Today in 2KM we had open classroom. The children spent time showing their parents all their hard work for this year and had fun working on an activity where they coloured-in, carefully cut out and made up a folding Union ‘Jack’ flag! Well done everyone. Katie Mackay

Ashdown Forest Trip

On Tuesday, Year 2 students enjoyed an enriching day exploring Ashdown Forest. The visit included engaging storytelling sessions featuring the beloved tales of Winnie the Pooh, alongside educational activities focused on the forest’s diverse wildlife and plant life. Pupils also had the opportunity to learn about the various physical geographic features that shape this iconic natural environment.

Maths

This week, Year 2 pupils concluded their work on fractions with a series of engaging and practical activities. The children learnt to recognise and find thirds and three-quarters of a number, as well as add fractions together to make a whole.

To reinforce their understanding, pupils enjoyed a hands-on activity in which they cut cakes into fractional parts. This interactive approach helped to cement their knowledge of fractions in a fun and memorable way. Catherine Thorley
