As part of the VE Day commemorations to mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War, pupils made medals. They learnt about the different campaign medals that were awarded and also watched an informative docudrama about VE Day by the British Legion.

This week the Year 7 Carnegies listened to first time author and illustrator Kate Rolfe explaining her working practice for her book ‘Wolf and Bear.’ They learnt some technical terms such as ‘gutter’ and ‘foil’ embossing’ and well as how much work goes into producing an illustrated book. Sadly we have to say goodbye to two of our amazing gappies, Eva and Estelle, as they return to Australia to continue their studies.

✨Christmas Extravaganza!!✨
The Christmas Extravaganza was nothing short of magical! This year’s event offered so many opportunities for our pupils to shine. From heartfelt performances to original songs written entirely by the children themselves, the evening showcased the incredible creativity and confidence that thrives in our school.
It was inspiring to see such a vast array of talent on display musicians, singers, and performers all sharing taking stage in front of a very busy audience. These moments remind us just how special our school is, and how much our pupils have to offer.
A huge thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event possible. Your dedication and support ensured that every child had the chance to participate and feel proud of their achievements.
Many thanks too to the Friends of Holmewood for the delicious mulled wine and festive nibbles that made the evening extra special.
