“World Recycling Week”
This week focused around the importance of taking care of our world, and all the people, animals and nature within it. The children teamed up with Mr Bennett and the Year 8s for a litter hunt around the grounds and talked about the value of recycling waste. We waited and watched as the bins were collected and taken away to the recycling centre. Throughout the week we thought about simple things we could do to look after our planet such as, switching lights off when leaving rooms and turning taps off in the bathrooms. Discussions on man-made materials and natural resources took place, and a kite flying afternoon explored this idea. They were excellent eco-warriors, and we look forward to seeing their hard work continue.
Next term…
We have so many fun and exciting times ahead during the Summer term and we cannot wait to share them with you. Sports day, the Summer show, and our annual farm trip to Godstone farm are on our list of events and celebrations as well as exploring the topic of “Under the sea” for the first half of term and “On the farm” during the second part. We will also be supporting the children with their onward transitions to Nursery and Reception.
