Pi Day

In the run up to Pi Day (13/4), some Year 7 and 8 pupils have been experimenting with probability and Buffon’s Needle experiment. This involved drawing parallel lines 2 matchstick lengths apart and throwing a lot of matchsticks to see where they land. By dividing the total number of sticks thrown (as a class) by the number that crossed the line, a value wonderfully appeared that approached Pi (3.14). Alison Tripp

We are excited about our new podcast series to be launched soon! Our first one was recorded today. Rosie and Phoenix interviewed current parent David Strettle, an accomplished Rugby player who played for Harlequins and Saracens, as well as representing England. Watch this space!
